"You get kisses and better all the time." Totsuka isn't usually so short with Hashimoto, but they're late and Hashimoto's thinly-veiled hunt for coddling won't make them punctual. "We'll make it up to you tomorrow."

"Not the same," Hashimoto insists, armed with a pout. "It doesn't count if it's not at midnight!"

"Then it'll be two years before it's done properly, won't it?!" Totsuka snaps, exasperated. They manage to shove Hashimoto into his clothes and out the door.

Two Countdowns later, when Hashimoto forces them all to make it up to him, properly, on-camera, Totsuka regrets his rash words.

Kinda.

"Ne, ne, Mitsu," Senga bounces in his white coat behind Tackey, his swoosh a swirl of excitement, "it's my first Countdown!"

"I've heard." Kitayama smiles, amused despite of himself. "Are you sure you're old enough? When was your birthday again?"

Senga wails an indignant, "Mitsuuuu!"

"Don't see what the big deal is myself." Kitayama yawns. "I've been doing these things since I joined Johnny's. Kind of bored of them, really."

"That's because you're older than TOKIO!" Nikaido cuts in, eyeing Senga.

Kitayama's amused grin doesn't dim one iota as he leans in to steal Senga's first New Year's Countdown kiss.

It's been a good year for Tackey. A busy year, full of touring and filming and Ebikisu and Snowmen, but definitely good.

This Countdown, though, Tackey still feels something's missing, even as they celebrate the New Year via satellite with friends and co-workers, sharing hugs with his favorite backers.

"Am I too late for my kiss?" It's exactly the voice Tackey wants to hear, not on a screen, right behind him.

"You missed midnight," he accuses, turning.

Tackey feels the same old lightning hot and bright in his chest when Tsubasa grins. "I'll make it up to you this year."
